## 1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites save on your device to store information useful for the site to function. This site uses two technical cookies, listed at point 6, plus one statistical tool that stores nothing on your device at all (point 3).

## 2. Technical cookies (necessary)

These are essential for the site to work correctly and to store your preferences, including whether you turned statistical measurement off. They don't require consent and can't be disabled.

## 3. Statistical measurement (no cookies)

For statistics we use exclusively **PostHog**, in **cookieless mode**: instead of a cookie, visits are counted from a hash computed on **servers located in the European Union**, from a salt that rotates daily and is deleted right after, with no persistent identifier and nothing stored on your device. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, this doesn't require your prior consent under the ePrivacy rules that govern cookies, it is instead based on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (see our [Privacy Policy](https://www.nfw.run/en/privacy) point 4), and you can turn it off at any time (point 5). We don't use Google Analytics or any other advertising profiling tool.

## 4. What we DON'T do with your data

Statistical data is collected in aggregated form and used only to improve the site. We don't sell or share your data with third parties, and we don't give AI systems or other external services access to the data we collect.

## 5. Turning measurement off

Statistical measurement is on by default, since it requires no consent (point 3). You can turn it off, or back on, at any time from the **Cookie preferences** link in the footer of every page, no need to touch your browser settings.
